Beginner’s Bread Baking Course- 12pm-4:30pm with Bonnie Ohara, author of Bread Baking for Beginners and owner of Alchemy Bread.
Get started with the basics of simple beginner yeasted breads. This is an introductory class that will dispel common myths about bread and teach key concepts to make you more confident and consistent in your bread baking. Class will be conducted in a relaxed, mindful and friendly way in my home kitchen/bakery. I will walk you through and demonstrate a simple and adaptable recipe, and then class members will get hands-on and shape beautiful loaves, lemon rosemary fougasse, olive and thyme focaccia, and pizzas. Class sizes are kept small so plenty of individual attention and hands-on advice will be given. Participants will go home with their fresh bread and a fundamental understanding of bread baking We will eat pizza that we baked together at the end of class and go over any miscellaneous baking questions you may have over a glass of wine or sparkling water.
Please be thoughtful and arrive on time! Class will begin promptly. All materials needed for the class will be provided, but you are welcome to bring an apron from home if you like and comfortable non slip shoes are encouraged!
