Where is your bakery?

Alchemy Bread is a cottage bakery in downtown Modesto,  Loaves are made with love in a home kitchen, weekly baking schedule varies. Bread pickup details are sent via text or email after a subscription order is placed, or you can email to place a large order. Alchemy Bread is a permitted Cottage Food Operation or "CFO" with a  food handlers license, business license & all recipes are approved by our county. Please remember to be respectful of our residence when visiting, and to model kindness and community spirit to my neighborhood, friends and other customers.

How can I buy your bread?

A few ways! One way is with a Subscription. Subscribers can sign up and pre-pay for a months worth of bread (one large weekly loaf) here on my site. Read more here. These sell out quickly each month, you can find out when then are available by subscribing to the email newsletter or following on instagram (links at bottom of this page).

Saturdays during warmer months (May- September) we have Saturday Bread. This bread day is very popular and convivial and comes with a long line so do be punctual for Saturday Bread, and do bring a friend, parent or sibling to keep you company or make new friends while you wait! Follow along on instagram or sign up to email newsletter to find out when Saturday bread is available and if I'm making your favorite flavors. Saturday bake is cash or venmo only, and first come first serve.

On summertime Thursday evenings we have "Friendship Bake". On these days you can pay cash or barter for a sourdough loaf or baguette. Suitable barter is any homegrown food product (fruits, vegetables, herbs, backyard hen eggs) homemade food products (homebrewed beers, kombucha, salsa, tortillas, stroopwafel, home-roasted coffee, handmade tea) or locally produced foods from a company you work for (wine, olive oils, cheese, cream, grains, tomatoes, honey). Next week I have this fabulous party/ special anniversary dinner/church dinner/preschool fundraiser and your bread should be there! Can you make a special loaf just for me?
